CORONA LIFE BULB
It is well known that the Corona pandemic virus most affects the elderly; they are at risk of infection while resting in parks, particularly when they relax in small pocket parks.
Such a park is a square of Polish-Hungarian friendship located at the intersection of the streets Dębińska and Queen Jadwiga in Poznan. The square is designed as two diagonal paths, on which crowds of seniors and young people meet every day. According to my observations there are an average of 6 people in the park during the day. In order to reduce the probability of meeting passers-by, I designed the park as a composition of islets. This system supports the isolation of people.
In order to enhance the safety and mental comfort of seniors, I created the Corona Life Bulb project. It is a sealed capsule for 3 people made in 3d large format printing technology; The material used is polycarbonate coated with silver ions and copper oxides. The chambers are separated from each other by filter layers that do not pass the body of the Coronavirus. The tightness of the capsule is suitable for sliding doors with a window allowing people inside to contact outsiders. The inside of the capsule is oxygenated by a flexible filter collar.
The prototype is supposed to live in symbiosis with a tree, so the filter collar protects the tree trunk from pests. The triangular basement of the structure has supports far away from the trunk, which eliminates the compaction of the ground around it. On the other hand, the presence in the capsule of the tree gives the resting sense of security and contact with nature.
